Stringfellow Road sidewalk repairs continue, with project expected to last until February
Sidewalk repairs along Stringfellow Road on Pine Island are continuing. According to the Lee County Depart-ment of Transportation, this project involves the removal and replacement of sidewalk panels along Stringfellow Road where cracking and concrete deterioration has occurred. For the duration of this project, work will take place Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m, pending weather or unforeseen circumstances. There will be intermittent lane closures and sidewalk detours as a part of this project. Museum of the Islands to hold art show, sale Aug. 10
There will be an art show at the Museum of the Islands for the Pine Island Plein Air Painters of History and the children’s free art class in Matlacha on Monday, Aug. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come by, see the paintings and purchase directly from the artists. Those in our plein air group may bring their work and sell it onsite at the museum Aug. 10. Guests can also come by and meet the artist. The group will also be painting there that day.
