The Lee County Community Band invites Southwest Florida residents and visitors to its final concert of the season, “On the Road Again,” this Sunday, April 12, at 3 p.m., at Mariner High School in Cape Coral. This lively spring program celebrates the end of the band’s season and offers a musical send-off to winter visitors heading north. The concert will feature an exciting mix of popular favorites, classic marches, Broadway music, ragtime, and audience sing-along tunes. Friends of Lisa pasta dinner fundraiser April 15 at SJCCA
A pasta dinner fundraiser for Pine Islander, Lisa Dence will be held Wednesday, April 15, at the St. James Civic Center. Dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m.; eat-in or carry-out. Tickets are $20 and available in advance from Julie Robbers at (239) 744-9767 or at the door. Dence is the owner of Salty Girls Cafe in Bokeelia. She has been experiencing some serious medical issues and is unable to return to work. This is a severe hardship for Dence and her family. Dence has been a generous and accommodating member of the Pine Island community for many years, whether lending her previous Olde Fish House location for island fundraisers such as the Matlacha Hookers Fishing Derbies ...

Lee Health and Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) are jointly exploring opportunities to improve healthcare, wellness and support services provided to persons living in Southwest Florida with an Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) diagnosis, as well as their families and caregivers. Officials reported a recent market study that was conducted uncovered the potential to improve services to this segment of the local population that will help them thrive more successfully in the community.
