First Baptist Church of Pine Island invites all to Easter services

Good Friday Service will be held April 3 at 7 p.m. Easter Morning Service will be April 5 at 10:45 a.m. This Easter Morning Service the church is excited to include Alan Curtis Tripp on piano. Calusa Waterkeeper Quarterly Meeting April 11

The Calusa Waterkeeper Quarterly Meeting will be held Saturday, April 11, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Florida Southwest University. The meeting is free and open to the public. Calusa Waterkeeper’s quarterly State of the Water meeting will feature guest speaker Dr. David Davis from University of Miami. He’ll be talking about his findings on the relationship between algae toxins and Alzheimer’s disease. Final CLT kayak trip of the season Sunday

The next Calusa Land Trust kayak trip will be on Easter Sunday, April 5, at 10 a.m., so wear your bunny outfit and come along to celebrate the last kayak trip of the season. This time we will be launching at the end of Sanibel Boulevard in St. James City and exploring the mangrove islands in that area. It should be well protected from the wind so barring rain and extreme wind, the trip should go on as planned. As always, bring sun screen, water, a PFD and an optional snack. Pine Island Sketchers set schedule for April

The Pine Island Sketchers meets every Tuesday during season from 10 a.m. to noon at a different location each week to draw and paint together outdoors. Bring a chair, art supplies and water.
