The Greater Pine Island Elks Lodge 2781 invites students in grades 5-8 to join the 2025-2026 Grand Lodge Americanism Essay Contest. This year’s theme is “What Does Service to Your Country Mean To You?” The contest encourages young people to think about what citizenship and patriotism mean to them. The contest has four divisions for each grade level, and the Elks will give awards for the best essays in each group. The process starts at the local lodge, moves to district and state competitions and culminates in the national winners being announced at the Grand Lodge Session in Chicago in July 2026.
