Church of God of Prophecy offering take-out Thanksgiving dinner

The Church of God of Prophecy will be having Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, Nov. 27. Dinner will be takeout only, no dine in. The price is $10 per dinner — turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn or green beans, dinner roll and dessert — pumpkin, pecan or apple pie. Candidates sought for GPIWA Board of Directors

Kiwanis Club of Greater Pine Island to present ‘Chili & Trees 2025’ Dec. 13

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Pine Island will hold its first-ever Chili & Trees event Saturday, Dec. 13, from 4:30-7:30 p.m., at Street Eatz & Ale. This new holiday celebration brings together two local favorites — delicious chili and festive Christmas trees — for an evening of food, fun and community spirit. Blue Star Mothers hoping to place wreaths on every veteran gravesite

By CJ HADDAD A local non-profit organization, comprised of those who have sons and daughters who serve or have served in the military, guard or reserves, is looking to the public to help decorate veteran graves next month.  The Blue Star Mothers Gulf Coast Florida Chapter 12, which represent Lee and Collier counties, will place wreaths on the graves of veterans at local cemeteries as part of Wreaths Across America Day Saturday, Dec. 13.  Members of the public can purchase a wreath to be placed on a specific grave (local or non-local), or just sponsor a wreath to be placed at a veteran grave.  “This is honestly the most important thing that we do,” said The Blue Star Mothers ...
