‘Drive Out Hunger’ golf tournament expands to two days

The 2026 Heritage Cares Drive Out Hunger Charity Golf Tournament has expanded to a two-day event that will raise awareness and support for hunger-relief programs across Southwest Florida.

Benefitting Harry Chapin Food Bank, the event begins Oct. 25 with a brunch and silent auction at The Club at Pelican Preserve in Fort Myers. The golf tournament, cocktail hour, dinner and awards ceremony follow on Oct. 26.

The Heritage Cares Foundation was established in 2023 and supports local charitable causes as well as employees of Heritage Golf Group who are facing unexpected hardships. Heritage Golf Group includes 48 private clubs and public courses spanning 15 states, including 13 properties in Florida. Locally, Heritage manages The Club at Pelican Preserve, The Plantation Golf & Country Club and The Club at Grandezza.

In 2025, the Drive Out Hunger Charity Golf Tournament attracted 116 golfers and raised $14,596 for hunger-relief through Harry Chapin Food Bank, the region’s largest hunger-relief organization and only Feeding America partner food bank. Each month, Harry Chapin Food Bank supports 300,000 neighbors experiencing hunger across Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties.

The Drive Out Hunger brunch and silent auction begin at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25. The cost is $40 per person.

The Drive Out Hunger golf tournament begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26. Registration is $150 per golfer or $500 per foursome and includes 18 holes of golf, cocktails, dinner and the awards program. Dinner-only registration is $75 per person.
