Sketchers Schedule
Pine Island Sketchers meets every Tuesday during season from 10 a.m. to noon at a different location each week to draw and paint together outdoors. Bring a chair, art supplies and water.
March
3/17 — Chuck Schad residence, 6068 Calusa Ridge Trail, Bokeelia. Drive north on Stringfellow from The Center, past the Catholic Church to Calusa Ridge. Calusa Ridge will be on your left. Go through gate and turn left onto Calusa Ridge Trail.
3/24 — Pine Island Getaway Café, 5281 Doug Taylor Circle, St. James City. This is also known to some as “the French Bakery.” Drive south on Stringfellow from The Center and turn onto Doug Taylor Circle. Drive around the circle to the back. We have been cautioned to not set up too close to the pond because alligators like to sun themselves there. Parking lot is small, so carpool, if possible.
3/31 — Galt Preserve, Stringfellow Road, St. James City. Drive south on Stringfellow from The Center for about 15 minutes. Galt Preserve is on the right, just past the American Legion on the left.
April
4/7 — Masters Grove, 13311 String-fellow Road, Bokeelia. Drive north on Stringfellow from The Center for about three miles. The entrance is on the left and has gate covered with magenta bougainvillea.
4/14 — Randell Research Center, 13810 Waterfront Drive, Pineland. Drive north on Stringfellow from The Center for about three miles. Turn left on Pineland Road. As the road curves around, it turns into Waterfront Drive and Randell Research Center will be on your right, across from Tarpon Lodge.
4/21 — Pine Island Cove, 7290 Ladyfish Drive, St. James City. Drive south on Stringfellow from The Center for about four miles. Pine Island Cove is on the right.
4/28 — Tarpon Lodge, 13771 Waterfront Drive, Bokeelia. Turn north on Stringfellow at The Center,, turn left onto Pineland Road and drive west, as it turns into Waterfront Drive, the Tarpon Lodge will be on the left. This is our last meeting of the season. Our tradition is to lunch together at Tarpon Lodge after sketching.
