To the editor:

A big shout-out to Pine Island Elementary School for hosting a food drive for the Pine Island Food Pantry!

Students worked diligently collecting non-perishable food items during the third week of November, and their hard work truly showed-the drive was a tremendous success, resulting in nearly 570 pounds of food donated to support local families in need this holiday season.

A very special thank you to Mrs. Bridget Amico-Dodig, the fifth-grade teacher who led the effort, and to Dr. Michael Galbreath, the principal, for his support.

To all the students who gave and everyone who helped-we are so grateful. Thank you for helping ensure No One Goes Hungry on Greater Pine Island!
