Greater Pine Island Kiwanis Club thanks island community for ongoing support

2 min read

The Greater Pine Island Kiwanis Club extends its heartfelt gratitude to the entire Pine Island community for their incredible generosity, support and spirit throughout the past year.

From fundraising events to volunteer efforts and local partnerships, the success of every Kiwanis initiative depends on the community members, local businesses and volunteers who come together to make a difference. Thanks to your continued support, the club has been able to fund vital programs that benefit local children and families — including scholarships, youth leadership opportunities and community projects in partnership with many of the other non-profits on the island.

“Pine Island is a truly special place. Every event we host, every project we undertake — it’s powered by the people who live here. We’re beyond grateful for the community’s trust and enthusiasm in helping us continue our mission of serving children and strengthening Pine Island,” said Tonya Player, president of the Greater Pine Island Kiwanis Club.

The club also expresses great appreciation to all who participated in their 2025 events such as Calusa 5K 2025, Fish Drop, Pool Parties, Fall Festival and SuperMarket Sweeps. Events like these showcase the best of what community collaboration can achieve — fun, fellowship and lasting local impact.

As the Greater Pine Island Kiwanis Club looks ahead to the new year, members remain dedicated to expanding youth programs, supporting education, and fostering community togetherness.

Those interested in joining or learning more are invited to visit www.pineislandkiwanis.org or attend the club’s weekly breakfast meeting, held every Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. at the VFW in St. James City.

Together, we make Pine Island stronger — one child and one community project at a time.
