Danny Forrest Compton

Danny Forrest Compton of St. James City passed away on Sunday February 13, 2022 due to illness. Danny is preceded in joining the Spirit Father by his
father and mother, Forrest and Allene Compton, and his stepdaughter Jennifer.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandy, his son Scott (wife Amber, grandchildren Emerson & Gracyn), sister Joyce Holland (nieces and nephews Tony, Tina, Sheri and Cinda).
Danny was born in Louisville, KY October 14, 1947. A graduate of Atherton High School, he joined the Navy and proudly served his country for two tours in Vietnam. Upon his return from service, he went to work for Bell South. He held a wide variety of positions in his 31 years, retiring to Pensacola.
As a resident of St. James City, Danny made many close friendships. He was famous for his chocolate chip cookies, enjoyed days on the boat, golfing, and was “Keeper of the Peace Bench” at Fisherman’s Wharf condominiums. In addition, he loved to paint, meditate, and travel.
A celebration of his life will be held in St. James City at a to be determined date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in his name through the American Cancer Society in Florida.
