Franklin Short Sr., a 35 year resident of Matlacha, FL, died unexpectedly on January 6, 2020 at the age of 60 while with family in Cape Coral.

Frank is survived by his wife, Deborah “Cricket” Short; his children, Franklin Short Jr. (future daughter-in-law, Ashley Denoto), James Short (future daughter-in-law, Taylor Mathews), and Angel (Short) Iverson (Son-in-law, Alan Iverson); his mother, Dolores Torra; and siblings Maxine Feliciano, Jim, Kevin, and Jamie Short, step-brother Joe Torra, and chosen brother Greg Warthen.

Frank was born in Kalamazoo, MI to Dolores Torra and James Short and moved to Fort Myers at the age of six. He had professional careers as a fisherman, truck driver, and construction worker, but above all he was a beloved husband and father to his three children. They already miss his beautiful guitar playing, how he never met a stranger, his positive outlook on life, his passion for life-long learning, and overall his love of people and nature.
