Lehigh man gets 60-year prison sentence after child porn conviction
A Lehigh Acres man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison after his 40-count conviction of child pornography possession.
Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that the Office of Statewide Prosecution secured a 60-year prison sentence for Phuc Minh Tran, 38, after he was convicted on 40 counts of child pornography possession.
“Justice was delivered with this sentence,” said Attorney General James Uthmeier. “I thank Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Agnieszka Thomas and Deputy Statewide Prosecutor Julie Chaikin for putting this predator where he belongs.”
Tran was convicted on the 40 counts in November. On Aug. 15, 2024, Florida Department of Law Enforcement officers carried out a search warrant at Tran’s residence after known child sexual abuse material, downloaded by Tran, was flagged by the FDLE cyber squad. He was arrested on the scene.
Tran will serve his sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections.
