FSW Radiologic Technology Program to unveil new energized labs Sept. 3
Florida SouthWestern State College’s School of Allied Health will unveil its three newly installed OMNERA 400T Digital Radiographic systems with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 1:30 p.m., in Building A, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers.
The new lab advances the Radiologic Technology Program from non-energized simulation labs to fully functional X-ray rooms and represents a significant investment in healthcare education and the preparation of workforce-ready graduates.
Funded through the State of Florida Conference Committee on Higher Education Appropriations, this initiative ensures students gain hands-on training in digital X-ray acquisition, positioning, and workflow-preparing them for clinical rotations and careers in medical imaging.
“Students will have the ability to take radiographs of anatomical manikins and have the images critiqued for proper positioning and exposure factors,” said Rendy Petrin, program director.
