Better Together receives $130,000 grant from Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation
Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families and preventing the need for foster care, today announced it has received a $130,000 grant from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation to support its Better Families and Better Jobs programs in Southwest Florida.
“We’re grateful to the Schulze Family Foundation for their generous investment in families,” said Megan Rose, CEO of Better Together. “When families have neighbors they can call on and parents have meaningful work, communities thrive. This grant will allow us to connect more families with caring neighbors and work so they can build a better future for their children.”
Better Together’s approach focuses on addressing challenges early and building strong community connections that help individuals and families succeed. Through its Better Families program, the organization connects parents experiencing difficult circumstances with volunteer mentors, short-term care for children, and community resources to help families navigate challenges before they escalate into a crisis. Its Better Jobs program helps job seekers overcome barriers to employment, receive job coaching and connect directly with employers ready to hire through community-based job fairs.
By supporting both the Better Families and Better Jobs programs, the Schulze Family Foundation is helping Better Together address two important factors in family stability: access to supportive relationships and opportunities for meaningful employment.
Better Together partners with churches, businesses, community organizations, volunteers and employers to meet families where they are and provide practical, relationship-driven support. Since its founding, the organization has served tens of thousands of children and families across Florida through programs that prevent the need for foster care, create pathways to employment and mobilize communities to help people thrive.
