Fire safety program set for homeschoolers
The Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District is inviting homeschool students to participate in a special fire safety educational opportunity.
Open to grades K-5, the program will take place on Oct. 1 at noon at Fire Station 1 on Pine Island Road.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about fire safety and meet local firefighters.
They will also gain a better understanding of fire prevention and emergency preparedness.
“The Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District is looking forward to welcoming local homeschool families for this educational and informative event,” Fire Chief Benjamin Mickulei reported.
Space is limited to attend.
Advance registration is required to take part.
