VFW Post 4353 to hold fundraiser Aug. 15 for Gold Star Mothers & Wreaths Across America
VFW Post 4353 will hold a fundraiser to support Gold Star Mothers & Wreaths Across America Saturday, Aug. 15. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The fundraiser will begin a 10:30 a.m. with a Gold Star Mom’s guest speaker, followed by lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunches available include grouper fish & chips with cole slaw for $13 or hamburger and fries for $11. The post will also be serving dinner from 5-8 p.m. featuring $7 pepperoni pizza and $1 wings.
Karaoke with Bobby Mann will be held from 6-9 p.m. and there will be 50/50s and other special drawings.
The Gold Star Mothers core goals and activities include:
• Honor the Fallen: Preserve the legacy and memory of service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.
• Support Veterans: Volunteer time and resources to care for hospitalized and healing veterans in communities nationwide.
• Provide Fellowship: Create a compassionate community and network of mutual comfort for mothers experiencing the profound loss of a child in military service.
• Promote Patriotism: Foster respect for the U.S. flag and the Armed Forces through civic engagement and community
