Island community invited to celebrate country’s 250th birthday with Legion Post 136

1 min read

Once again, American Legion Post 136 will be the proud sponsors of both the parade and the fireworks. As we will be celebrating our nation’s 250th birthday, Post 136 would like to pull all the stops making this a fun and exciting party and invite the Pine Island community to spend the day and evening at the American Legion.

The Post would like to include local businesses and the community to help with the celebration.

Line up for the parade will be at the Winn-Dixie parking lot beginning around 8 a.m.; parade starts at 10 a.m. sharp; fireworks begin at sunset.

The American Legion will be open to the public.

Anyone wanting to decorate a float, vehicle, their person or bicycle, please let the Legion know by calling Ken Markle at (301) 707-7917 or Angee Romeo at (239) 471-9771 or the Post at (239) 283-4434. There is no charge to enter and the more entries, the better.

And later that night, the fireworks!
