 Next month’s roster of activities at the Pine Island Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following programs are free to the public.

 

Adult Programs

DIY Sand Art & Rock Painting

2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1

Create coastal sand art that’s perfect for decorating your home. Relax with rock painting as a bonus craft while supplies last. Registration is required.

 

Children’s Programs

Lego Club: Back to School, Back to Fun

4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18

You’re back to school and it’s time for some fun at Lego Club. Join us for fun, hands-on, brick-building activities. All materials are provided, just bring your creativity.

 

Preschool Puppet Playdate

10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20

The puppets are coming out to play. After we read a short story together, your preschooler can bring the puppets to life in the puppet theater or choose a puppet and book to enjoy some time reading. Children can also make their very own puppet to take home. For children ages 2 – 5 years and their caregivers.

 

ChompSaw Cardboard Creations

2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22

Teens and children are invited to join us as we introduce the ChompSaw. This safety power tool is designed to cut cardboard for your next creative project. Bring your ideas and creativity and we will provide the rest.

 

Little Musicians: Music and Movement

10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 27

After a short story, we will explore music through songs, creative movement and instrument playing. Materials will be provided to create your own instrument to take home. For children ages 2-5 years and their caregivers.
