Elks provide Aqua Eye Pro to Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District

This year marked a significant milestone in enhancing community safety as the Greater Pine Island Elks took an important step forward by purchasing an Aqua Eye Pro. This state-of-the-art handheld sonar device has been specifically designed for first responders and water rescue teams, enabling them to swiftly and accurately locate missing persons in underwater environments. 

The Aqua Eye Pro combines cutting-edge sonar technology and artificial intelligence to detect human bodies submerged beneath the water surface with unparalleled precision. The device was officially presented to the Pine Island/Matlacha Fire Department, an event marked by a meaningful ceremony.

Elks Exalted Ruler Judy Hopkins highlighted that the recent acquisition of the Aqua Eye Pro equipment serves several important purposes. Chief among these is its potential to save lives, along with its cost-effectiveness and the added safety it provides to the local water rescue team. The Aqua Eye Pro is designed to swiftly identify and locate individuals submerged underwater, which can greatly shorten the duration and resource requirements of rescue operations.

By investing in the advanced Aqua Eye Pro, the Greater Pine Island Elks are significantly enhancing the capabilities of the islands’ water rescue team, equipping it with cutting-edge technology to respond swiftly and effectively in emergencies. This state-of-the-art equipment not only improves response times but also increases the likelihood of successful recoveries, ultimately safeguarding lives in our community.
