June is membership drive month at the Museum of the Islands
June is the Museum of the Islands Membership Drive Month. This all-volunteer museum, established 36 years ago, is a cultural treasure preserving island history, such as the Calusa Tribe dating back several thousand years and also the area’s important and interesting fishing industry.
By investing in a museum membership, islanders can insure that the rich history of Pine Island and surrounding islands can be preserved and enjoyed for generations to come.
Family memberships are $25, this gives members and their families unlimited visits for 12 months, There are also individual memberships for $20 and lifetime memberships for $100.
Memberships can be obtained in person at the museum, which is located at 5728 Sesame Drive, Bokeelia (adjacent to the library and Community Pool), or by mail to PO Box 103, Matlacha FL 33993.
Summer hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Winter hours resume in the fall and the museum will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
