Four Chaplain Celebration of Life Saturday at the American Legion
This Saturday, April 11, beginning at 11 a.m., American Legion Post 136 will celebrate the 83rd anniversary of the sinking of the U.S.S. Dorchester and the eye witness accounts of comfort and aid given to the crew by four Army chaplains aboard. The Dorchester tragically sunk on Feb. 3, 1943, while crossing the North Atlantic, transporting troops to an American base in Greenland.
Please join us at the American Legion as post members honor and pay tribute to the four chaplains who gave aid and comfort to the crew of the Dorchester.
