Celebrate of life for Sharon Harper Saturday

This Saturday, April 11, at 2 p.m., there will be a celebration of life for former member and Pine Island seasonal resident Sharon Herpers, who passed away on Feb. 10, 2026. A Eucharist Service will be followed by a gathering in St. John’s Comfort Hall for friends and family. 

Herpers was an active member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Minnetonka, Minnesota, for almost 60 years, as well as St. John’s Episcopal Church on Pine Island and Epiphany Episcopal Church in Cape Coral. 

She was kind, generous and loving. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved traveling, watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, playing bridge, reading, doing crosswords and spending time with family and friends. 

Herpers was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand (Jeff) Herpers, and her parents Ralph and Anna Irene Safford. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her children Richard Herpers (Cindy), David Herpers (Gwen) and Amy Steiner (John); as well as her grandchildren (Anna, Maria, Patrick, Kayla, Nicollet, Lillian, Ben, Abby, Hannah, and Justin) and great-grandchildren (Harry, Trevor, Sebastian, and Nora). She is also survived by her brother Robert Safford (Martha), her brother-in-law John Herpers (Nancy), and nieces and nephews (Laura, Janine, JG, Aaron, and Ericka). 

In her memory, donations may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church in Pine Island St. David’s Episcopal Church in Minnetonka Minnesota.,, or Sharing and Caring Hands, Minn.
