Lee County Parks & Recreation has partnered with Lee County Domestic Animal Services to host the inaugural SWFL Pet Expo on Saturday, March 28, at Mike Greenwell Regional Park

The event is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Expo Hall to celebrate pet adoption, animal wellness and pet-positive recreation, bringing together animal lovers from across Southwest Florida for a day dedicated to helping pets find their fur-ever homes. Parking and admission are free.

Area rescues and shelters will be onsite with adoptable dogs looking for loving families. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet, interact with and potentially adopt a new four-legged companion. In addition to adoption opportunities, the event will feature pet-related vendors offering products, services and resources to support responsible pet ownership and animal wellness.

The SWFL Pet Expo aims to raise awareness about the importance of adoption while creating a fun, family-friendly environment for the community to come together in support of local animals. In addition to Lee County Domestic Animal Services, nearly two dozen rescues and shelters will be represented, including Gulf Coast Humane Society, Cape Coral Animal Shelter, Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County and the Animal Refuge Center.

Mike Greenwell Regional Park, formerly the Lee County Civic Center Complex, is at 11831 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers.
