Zen Day: Free event to be held at Sweeney’s SOS Saturday
Sweeney’s SOS owner, Patti Sweeney is very excited to offer Zen Day, which she believes will offer a bit of calm and also become a little meta-physical twist on options in her store. In reality, she said, she sees this as a customer appreciation day. She went out, she said, and got some goodies for those who come, as well as someone who will tend bar.
“Zen Day is an event that I came up with. I was wondering how I could give back to my customers. The last time I did this, it was years ago and I only had the north side of the building. I decided to have vendors like local artists, some massage, Reiki, and a sound bowl therapist. I got some nice goodies for my customers and someone to tend bar. It was actually very well received and people really enjoyed the unique qualities of the event, ” Sweeney said.
Sweeney believes Zen day comprises its own niche function within the community, and those who come to the event, can look forward to connecting with others whom they may need both for reasons having to do with work or simply for relaxation. There will also be a 50/50 raffle as well as door prizes. Sweeney said she would like those coming to meet the new yoga instructor.
“I’ll have a massage therapist here, who’s now going to be serving the island, so you can experience that,” Sweeney said.
In addition to massage therapy and reiki, she said event attendees can also experience a numerologist a vibrational sound therapist as well as multiple vendors she’s found who may be recognizable yet still unknown.
“There will be vendors with unique items-things you are not likely to see at other markets. If you’ve got a gift, let’ share it and connect people, Sweeney said.
The most exciting part of the event, she said, will be Wings of Love, scheduled at noon. Her hopes and expectations for this Zen Day, she said is that People come and relax with others in the community.
“Most people find when they come to the shop that it’s a nice visit-not in any way hyped up or hectic. Maybe they will find a connection and enjoy what we have to offer. I am really hoping folks will join us for a time of peace and harmony,” Sweeney said.
