The Matlacha Hookers will once again bring island spirit to Pine Island with the 14th Annual Island Luau, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 22, from 1-5 p.m., at the St. James City Civic Center.

The popular 21-and-over fundraiser benefits Beacon of Hope Senior Programs and is one of the island’s most anticipated annual events.

The Island Luau combines tropical entertainment with a strong local mission. Attendees will enjoy island music and dancing, an island buffet by Ginger Bistro, tropical beverages, boutique shopping, raffles, silent auctions and a lively costume contest featuring categories such as Best Female, Best Male, Best Couple, and Most Creative.

Tickets are $45 online through Saturday, Feb. 21, with day-of tickets priced at $55, if available. If sold out, it will be announced the Day Prior. Most years it does sells out.

Live DJ entertainment will keep the energy high throughout the afternoon, while guests enjoy a relaxed island atmosphere.

Attendance is capped at 350 guests, and organizers expect another sell-out event.

Proceeds from the Island Luau directly support Beacon of Hope’s senior programs, which provide essential services to Pine Island residents. With tourism-based funding continuing to fluctuate, organizers say the annual fundraiser plays a critical role in sustaining these programs during the 2026 season.

Founded in 1998, the Matlacha Hookers are a nonprofit women’s charitable organization based in Matlacha and dedicated to strengthening local communities through fundraising and volunteer efforts.
