Next month’s roster of activities at the Pine Island Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following programs are free to the public.
Adult Programs
Tech Thursdays: One-on-One Help
2 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 19
Need help with a phone, tablet or laptop? Are you looking to gain basic computer skills? We can help with a 15-minute, one-on-one technology help session. Bring your own fully charged device and any passwords or use a library computer to receive direct instruction. Registration is required.
Mosaic Tile Craft
Noon, Wednesday, March 11
2 p.m., Saturday, March 14
Craft your own masterpiece using mosaic tiles. All materials provided. Registration is required and patrons may only register for one event in this series.
Book Discussion: “North Woods”

A moving work of historical fiction, “North Woods” details the story of a New England house and those who call it home through the centuries. Sponsored by the Friends of the Pine Island Public Library. Copies of the book are available at the service desk on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tai Chi for Adults
10 a.m., Saturday, March 21
Join us for a relaxing Saturday morning Tai Chi class. Feel free to bring your own yoga mat or one will be provided for you to use. Registration is required.
Children’s Programs
Family Storytime
10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 5
For children through age 5 years with a caregiver. Enjoy books, rhymes, songs and activities. This fun and engaging program offers kids a chance to make friends and build skills through stories, music and movement. Caregivers participate with their children while learning helpful early literacy strategies and tips to continue at home.
Lego Club
4 p.m., Tuesday, March 10
Join us for fun, hands-on, brick-building activities. All materials are provided, just bring your creativity.
Preschool Parachute Playdate
10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 19
Preschoolers will have a fun and engaging time learning new parachute games while singing songs, learning rhymes and playing with friends old and new. Join us for a story, activities and light refreshments. For children ages 2-5 years with caregiver.
Sanibel Sea School Presents: Dolphins
10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 25
Dolphins are incredibly playful creatures. During this interactive program presented by Sanibel Sea School, children will learn how dolphins splash and play in the waves and they will have the chance to catch fish just like the dolphins. For children age 4 years and older. Registration is required.
Special Family Storytime: Puppy Tales
10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 26
Preschoolers and their families will have a good time reading to certified therapy dogs. Join us for dog-themed stories, songs and crafts. Therapy dogs will be on-site for families to read to and enjoy. For children through age 5 years with a caregiver.
Nature Journaling: All About Gopher Tortoises
3 p.m., Saturday, March 28
Learn all about gopher tortoises and how to document your discoveries through nature journaling, the practice of writing and drawing the world around you. Participants will be provided with their very own “Field Notes” journal to record their observations. For children ages 8-12 years. Sponsored by the Friends of The Pine Island Public Library. Registration is required.
