Veterinary Assisting Dog Wash Saturday at Cape Coral Technical College
A Veterinary Assisting Dog Wash will be held this Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Cape Coral Technical College Campus, 360 Santa Barbara Blvd., N, Cape Coral. Follow the signs on campus to the dog wash.
The cost is $20 for small and medium dogs and $30 for dogs 40 pounds and over. Cash only please, and ear cleaning and toenail trims are included with the bath.

The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools to name five Suncoast Credit Union Scholars in 2026
The Suncoast Credit Union Foundation is partnering with the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools to offer five $3,000 scholarship awards to high school graduates in the Class of 2026. This year’s high school graduates in Suncoast Credit Union’s 25-county service territory have the opportunity to apply for financial support to continue their education, thanks to a $234,810 investment in scholarships by the Florida-based credit union’s Foundation.
Applications opened on Nov. 1, and are available HERE. The deadline for submittals is Jan. 19.
This year’s Suncoast Credit Union Scholars program represents the continued mission of the foundation to support education initiatives and the well-being and potential of children. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has contributed more than $40 million including more than $2.9 million in scholarships.

Lee County School Board member Fisher earns recognition
The Florida School Boards Association recently recognized Samuel Fisher, Lee County School Board member, as their newest Certified Board Member.
To earn the initial distinction of a CBM, members must complete 96 hours of training in areas such as policy, school finance, and bargaining.
“I am proud to recognize Sam as a Certified Board Member,” FSBA Leadership Services Director Tina Pinkoson stated. “Since his election in 2022 Sam has shown a willingness and desire to learn.”
The Certified Board Member Distinction is one of several professional development programs offered by the Florida School Boards Association to ensure board members obtain well-rounded and thorough understanding of his or her policy-making job responsibilities.
The Florida School Boards Association is the professional association for school boards in Florida. The mission of FSBA is to increase student achievement through the development of effective school board leadership and advocacy for public education.
