‘Acma in Matlacha’ concert this Wednesday at The Olde Fish House Marina and Restaurant
The Olde Fish House Marina and Restaurant, 4530 Pine Island Rd Matlacha, will hold its first “Acma in Matlacha” concert on Wednesday, April 6, from 6-9 p.m.
Acma is The Americana Community Music Association and is a charitable foundation whose goal is “to promote original and roots music in our community.” They offer year round listening room concerts in Fort Myers featuring both touring and local musicians. Acma also has a weekly songwriter circle for musicians wishing to write songs or beginners who are interested in creating original music. This concert will feature a sample of the music you will hear as well as the fine folks you can meet as a member of Acma.
Featured performers include Joyce Knake, Houseboat Jim Visone, Bill (man of) Steele, Bill Metts, Homegrown Sound and a few others. Kip Lawrence will emcee and perform a few of the tunes from his days as a Yard Dog.
“The Olde Fish House is the perfect setting for songwriters as well as a home for touring artists with a vibe which takes you into an “old Florida”, fishing village atmosphere,” organizers said. “Acma is looking forward to having a party in beautiful, downtown Matlacha and all are invited to come out to hear great music while enjoying some of the best, fresh, local seafood found anywhere. Hope to see you there.”
