Local writers Marsha J. Perlman, J.D. Daniels and Jeannette Batko have been meeting regularly on the waterfront of Matlacha Pass for the past four winters.

Perlman is the author of Spirit Life, a book of environmental poetry based on her encounters with the wildlife along Florida’s Gulf Coast. She is currently writing a personal essay collection.

Co-founder and editor of Prairie Wolf Press Review, Daniels authored The Old Wolf Lady, A Biography. She is putting the final touches on a mystery set in Matlacha and Pine Island.

Batko’s poems and prose are featured in The Spirit of Pine Island.

While writing short stories for an anthology of her work, she is accepting clients for manuscript proofreading services.

They credit the Gulf Coast and island ambience for their inspiration.
