Jug Creek Marina will host Crab Trap Clean Up and Fish Fry
Jug Creek Marina will host Crab Trap Clean Up and Fish Fry Friday, July 10. Area commercial fishermen have registered to donate their time, labor and boats to help retrieve abandoned and damaged traps from local waters during the event, which is sponsored by Sea Grant and Lee County Commercial Fishermen.
The trap retrieval will take place from 8 a.m. to noon followed by a fish fry from 1 to 3 p.m. at Jug Creek Marina locate at 16498 Tortuga St. in Bokeelia. Lunch will be free for all who volunteer with the trap clean-up and others can pay $7 for a serving of the Fish Fry.
Lunch will consist of fried, fresh-caught mullet, hush puppies and homemade side dishes from the homes of local fishermen.
