Celebrating Pine Islanders: Chardayne Seuffert
Chardayne (Char) Seuffert, broker owner of RE/MAX Sunshine, said she identifies as an islander, as she lived here when she was a child in 1982. Her heart, she said, is in Matlacha, which is just one of her two current business locations.
“What people should know about me is that I am the hardest worker they’ll ever meet and I am extraordinarily passionate about the island and about real estate.
She’s got roots here in Southwest Florida, as she graduated from Mariner High and has known folks from the island going back as far as high school. In June 2022, however, was when she said she became fully entrenched on the island.
She said she wanted to open her business in Matlacha, which she affectionately refers to as Magical Matlacha. She was told she could not open an office in Matlacha for reasons having to do with the sharing of the same ZIP code of her office in Cape Coral, but said she was determined to make it happen. Now, she describes it as something that was just meant to be.
“The opportunity to be on the island, I think is a gift. There is no better place on earth. The people here are rooting for each other they help each other, they are the doers. It’s a little time capsule,” Seuffert said.
Seuffert said her love for Pine Island and Matlacha is most easily displayed in her side-by-side work with the other islanders in whatever capacity is needed.
“They’ve lifted me up and they’ve come and helped me. We just ban together. We try to raise money. We’re acutely aware of the needs of the island,” Seuffert said.
Having to describe the island to a stranger, she said, would find her telling them it’s the happiest place on earth.
“You never know who you’re sitting next to out here, because no one cares. It’s all about living your best life and being happy,” Seuffert said.
Seuffert said her greatest wish for the island would be for it to thrive and pick up from the last 3 years.
“Stay small and quaint and beautiful,” Seuffert said.
