Saturday afternoon people began arriving at CW Fudge not only to celebrate Christmas in July, but to celebrate 12 new flavors of fudge – everything from Cheesecake flavors to Coconut Delight. The event included face painting by artist Ann Sansone and even Santa arrived in his summer outfit. A performance by the Pine Island Dance Studio was cancelled due to the weather.

“We actually had probably close to 200 people here Saturday, co-owner William Tidball said.

“Everyone that came through the door was asked to be a ‘taste tester” and handed a survey sheet with all of the sample flavors. We got back 150 survey sheets. That’s 50 more than I expected.”

The planned use for the 10 flavors is to offer them as a “flavor of the week”: Penuchi Praline (Merriam Webster defines ‘panuchi” as a “fudge made usually of brown sugar, butter, cream or milk, and nuts,” Dark Chocolate Penuchi, Raspberry Cheesecake, Pecan Cheesecake, Jelly Donut, Malted Milk, Chocolate Covered Malted Ball, Banana Cinnamon, Nuts for Peanuts and Coconut Delight.

“We had a lot of fun and I really appreciate people coming out in the terrible weather,” Tidball said. “We will probably have another tasting in September.”
