The Matlacha Hookers raised about $3,623 at the Third Annual Mrs. Roper Romp on Sept. 12 to benefit the Hooked on Education Scholarship Fund. The event brought together the community for a day of music, auctions and philanthropy, with the proceeds supporting the continuing education of island residents.

The Matlacha Hookers thanked Low Key Tiki, Ragged Ass Saloon and Froggy’s Bar & Grill for hosting the event and providing donations. It offered a special thanks to the Matt Lee Crew for the live music and the artists who transformed handcrafted frogs into auction pieces. It also recognized Eric Seuffert for creating and donating the frogs, Char Seuffert for the photo booth, Bob Stull for building the human slot machine, and Kitty Kline for serving as DJ and auctioneer.

The Matlacha Hookers expressed heartfelt appreciation to the volunteers who helped make the event a success, including the golf cart drivers who transported participants between venues.
