Legion equips school with new spirit shirts
Students and staff at the Pine Island Elementary (PIE) School are stepping into their Fridays with an extra boost of school pride, thanks to a generous community partnership.
American Legion Post 136 recently donated brand-new spirit T-shirts to the school, ensuring every member of the PIE family can gear up in red and white to wrap up the week.
Designed to highlight school identity and civic pride, the shirts feature:
– PIE Eagle: Beloved school mascot, front and center
– School Core Values: Key principles that guide PIE students daily
– American Flag and Post 136 logo: Honoring local veterans who made the donation possible
“This donation means so much to our school community,” said Principal Dr. Michael Galbreath. “It brings a sense of pride that our students and staff are excited to display each week. We extend a big thank you to American Legion Post 136 for their kindness, generosity and continued dedication to supporting local youth.”
The contribution makes an impact beyond the classroom. Friday Spirit Days have been a tradition, but having matching apparel creates a sense of unity and belonging across the entire school’s campus.
