Kiwanis welcomes new board at installation dinner

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Pine Island recently installed its board for the 2026-27 year at its Installation Dinner.

The club thanked outgoing President Tonya Player for her leadership and service, and welcomed Darcy Conner as the incoming president.

The evening included special recognition for longtime members Mike Shevlin, who has served the Kiwanis for 44 years, and Nick Mohar, who has served for 29 years. Both were thanked for their dedication to the club and the Pine Island community.

Attendees also enjoyed a delicious meal and warm hospitality.

The club extended its appreciation to Lisa Dense and Salty Girls for hosting the annual dinner.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of children and strengthening communities through service. The Kiwanis Club of Greater Pine Island supports local programs and community initiatives.

The club meets at 8 a.m. Wednesdays at Fishermen’s Lutheran Church, at 10360 Stringfellow Road, St. James City, with breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m.
