In the early hours of Sunday, Sept. 14, a Bonita Springs Fire battalion chief was struck by a vehicle while assisting at a crash scene on I-75.

He received ALS medical treatment and was transported as a trauma alert to Gulf Coast Medical Center where he remains in critical but stable condition. His road to recovery is expected to be long and challenging.

The Bonita Springs Professional Firefighters Local 3444 are organizing a Zeffy-hosted fundraiser to help support the battalion chief and his family during this difficult time by covering:

• Medical expenses and ongoing rehabilitation

• Family support while he recovers

• Daily living costs, food, and unforeseen financial burdens.

Organizers say every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.
