Islander lands big king mackerel

Dom Scafidi of Pine Island was fishing off of the Causeway Reef near Sanibel on May 26 at approximately 11:30 a.m. when he hooked a king mackerel. Once the reel started screaming, it took him about 10 minutes to land the monster keeper, which weighed in at approximately 60 pounds. He was with Mike Rotella and Ken O’Brien, both of Pine Island. O’Brien called it a “fish of a lifetime.”
