Captain John “Giddy-up” Bunch, founder of Operation Open Arms, threw out the first pitch for the Boston Red Sox Spring Training game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Jet Blue Park Thursday, March 23. Operation Open Arms is an all volunteer 501(c)3 charity located in St. James City. Since its founding, OOA has provided more than 1,993 U.S. troops and their families free combat leave vacations (R&R). OOA will celebrate its 12th anniversary on Wednesday, April 19.
