Tom Cleaver, Bank Manager at SunTrust Bank for the last 10 years, retired effective Nov. 29.

“I turned 62 years old on Sunday and my wife and I had been planning around that,” Cleaver said. “People come in and say “I guess it’s a mixture of happy and sad,” but I have to say I’m not sad and that has more to do with the people of Pine Island whether they’re teammates or whether their clients that you have gotten to know and like so much, we’re going to still see them. This is Pine Island… it’s that kind of community.”

“We’re very excited about the retirement,” Cleaver said. “The thing we want to do is take advantage of everything that is all around us that we’ve never made the time to do. I love to fish, I always fished when I was up north, I’ve just never made the time to really figure it out here. My wife loves to go out to Cayo Costa and we plan on doing that more.”

Tom Cleaver’s replacement is Lee Ann Hunt. Hunt has many years in banking in New Jersey and traveled to Cape Coral last year to visit family. After returning to New Jersey she decided to relocate to Southwest Florida.

“Lee Ann is a fabulous fit here and her background is so extensive that she brings a lot to us,” Cleaver said.

“I’m really happy to be here, the people are so friendly and have been so welcoming,” Hunt said. “SunTrust is just a great bank to work for. They’re all about serving the customers and not about selling products and services the customers don’t need. I feel very fortunate to have found SunTrust and Pine Island.”
