To the editor:
It has been amusing reading the comments about the bike path and the road-riding bicyclist in the past few Letters to the Editor.
I guess it is their right to ride on the road if they want. Common sense would dictate that riding on the road with a two-foot or less shoulder could be considered suicide. We are talking about Pine Island here. We have the young cowboy drivers, people in a hurry to get to work or back home. Older people that should not be driving (you know who you are) and our partiers that sometimes start in the early a.m. and party all day. That is the nature of the island.
Does this sound like a good place to ride on the road with a bike? Just one little mistake and it doesn't have to be malicious and you're a statistic. I don't know about you but I'll be in my car when I'm on Stringfellow Road. Good luck.
