Marjorie Reta Botting Ades, 80, died at her vacation home on Pine Island on March 14, 2013, after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. She was an only child of Russell Howard Botting of Sydenham, Ontario, and Ruth Josephine McDonald of Rochester, N.Y.
She met Jack Ernest Ades while attending West High School in Rochester, N.Y. They were married April 19, 1952. They were married for nearly 61 years.
They moved from Spencerport, N.Y., in 1973 to Colorado Springs, Colo., and resided there until her death. She and her family built a wonderful life together there. She enjoyed her family, the outdoors, gardening, boating, bridge, bunco, traveling and socializing with her many friends and family members.

She also took up running in her 40s and ran for close to 20 years. After knee injuries sidelined her running, she began walking and enjoyed that until about 4 months prior to her death.
She was preceded in death by their son, Tim.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; two sons, Chris of Colorado and Bucky (Dawn) of Florida; Patty (Bob) of Massachusetts; Tim's wife Mary of Colorado; and Barb (Dick) of Colorado. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with three more on the way.
Her zest for life was infectious and anyone that was fortunate enough to meet her, even for a short time, loved her. We were so blessed to have her in our lives. She will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in her name to St. Jude's or your favorite charity.
