To the editor:
Thank you so much for caring enough about me to raise me from a crying infant to a child who could read before I went to school! (Reading early got me in trouble back then.)
Thank you for teaching me manners and to be polite by saying please, thank you and you are welcome. (Common courtesy)
Thank you for teaching me respect for myself, professionals and peers by using honorifics in my southern manner of speech, such as ma-am, sire and miss (no disrespect is meant by this manner of address).
Thank you for teaching me one day when I was about 8 years old, that other people have feelings, too, and that the whole world did not center around me and my feelings! (Big eye opener, ha ha!)
Thank you for being a positive influence on my life, yet strong enough to steer me in the right direction when needed!
I love you! I miss you! No one can ever replace you!
P.S. Thank you for teaching me to shoot and care for our guns also!
