Mahjongg Scores
On Dec. 16, “The Ladies of the Tiles” had their annual holiday party. Everyone came wearing the holiday finery and the room was decorated for the season.
We started an hour earlier so that we could start off with hors d’oeuvres and beverages (lots of wine!). We then played mahjongg with 4 tables!
Our high scorer was Jo Schreibman with 200 points. Clem Moors took 2nd place with 120 points. Sue Rasmussen earned 3rd place with 110 points.
At our “Snack & Chat” break, we munched on many delish desserts. Everyone was so generous to bring the food, beverages and of course donation for the Cat rescue on the Island.
After we finished for the day we all went over to our dear friend and former MJ activity leader, BJ’s house for a surprise visit. The look on her face was precious! We boxed up a lot of our holiday goodies and a poinsettia plant that we presented to her with a lovely card wishing her well and telling her how much we miss her presence at our weekly games. As we stood outside we serenaded BJ with Christmas carols.
We have such a lovely group of warm, generous, kind and thoughtful women.
We play every Thursday from 1-4 p.m., by the Mahjongg League rules. It is $2 for members & $4 for non-members. If you present to the Activity Leaders your proof of completed COVID vaccinations then you will not have to be masked, otherwise you will need to be masked. Cell phones must be silenced. Due to seasonal illnesses and of course, COVID, we ask anyone feeling unwell to refrain from coming, from bringing food to the side tables (beverages allowed) and to wash/antiseptic wipe before playing and after Snack & Chat. The AL’s clean the tables and tiles with antiseptic wipes as we set up. Please be mindful of your fellow MJ attendees as loud conversations are distracting and make it difficult for the players to hear. We continue to teach for free.
