Mahjongg Scores

2 min read

On Thursday, Sept. 9, six of us St. James City Civic Association members, who are double vaccinated, masked and played mahjongg. We had one table of 4 and another table of 2. The table of 4 had a friend of Clem Moors, Judy Schatzle, observing our game (week 2). Being a poker player she is a savvy game player and we hope before long that she feels confident enough to join us in playing a game. Thanks Clem for bringing your delightful friend to us! The other table of 4 were players that rotated in and out of an ongoing game of Siamese MJ. Everyone seems to love the challenges of Siamese. It is quite the mind tease to leave the Siamese table and return to only looking for one mahjongg not a double MJ! All good — keeps our aging brain cells percolating!

One of our MJ activity leaders, Melanie Giangrant won first place honors today with her 7-game total of 95 points. Clem Moors came in at a close second 7-game total with 90 points. Pat Johnsen secured third place with a 7-game total of 35 points. Just goes to show, even low-ish scores can win a top spot and your name in the paper!
