2018 Septima Malbec

#12-2021

Malbec from Argentina continues to be one of the better values in today’s red wine market, and this entry from Bodega Septima certainly is a good example. This is a good choice for pasta, or the grilled steak we paired it with.

The color is a beautiful purple red, with the nose broadcasting scents of sweet cherries and plums. The flavor is a mix of those two fruits, and also blackberries, with a touch of blueberry. The finish is clean with a small hint of oak. The alcohol content is 13.5%, and Norm’s score is 88.

A bottle of Septima Malbec was a good companion for our medium rare steak, hot from the grill. It would also be perfect with Lasagna.

Score: 88

Price: $11-$15
