2017 Columbia Winery Chardonnay

#03-2021

In the wine country of Washington State north of the Columbia river, there are some good Chardonnay vineyards which produce very approachable wines for nominal sums, compared to their quality. The 2017 Columbia Winery Chardonnay surly fits the bill. This is a very decent Chardonnay for a modest price.

When the bottle is un-corked, there is the scent of fresh fruit in the air. The flavors area a combination of apple and peach, with a little tropical fruit in the background. The wine has a creamy mouth feel, and there is a slight trace of butteriness leading to a clean finish. The alcohol content is 13.6%, and Norm’s score is 88.

A bottle of Columbia Winery Chardonnay was a fine companion for our Shrimp and pasta dish served with a fresh romaine and avocado salad.

Score: 88

Price: $11 – $14
