The North Georgia Wine Advisor
2018 14 Hands Pinot Grigio
#37-2020
In the hot summer, refreshing wine and lighter dinner fare make a good combination, and we were quite pleased with our seasoned shrimp dinner along with a fresh avocado and tomato salad, and a bottle of 2018 14 Hands Pinot Grigio from the state of Washington.
The 14 Hands is a pleasant wine with a bright nose revealing scents of melon and apple. The flavors range from peach and apple, with a hint of melon, and a touch of sweetness which reminds one of honeysuckle. This is an easy to drink Pinot Grigio with a clean and refreshing taste, and a good choice for a warm evening. The alcohol content is 13.5%, and Norm’s score is 87.
A bottle of 14 Hands Pinot Grigio was a nice paring with our shrimp, which had a touch of cayenne pepper to add a spicy note This one would also be a good companion for grilled chicken salad, or a crab based seafood salad.
Score: 87
