Catch ’em & Cook ’em: Steak Soup
Ingredients:
1 stick butter
2/3 C flour
1 tsp course ground black pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 C carrots chopped course cut
1/2 C course ground hamburger
1 C frozen mixed vegetables
1 1/2 tsp Kitchen Bouquet
1 C water
1/2 C celery course cut
2 T beef base
1/2 C onions course cut
1 C tomatoes canned chopped
How to:
1. Brown and drain the hamburger.
2. Chop celery, onions and carrots very chunky and parboil.
3. Melt butter in 2 Qt pot and stir until thickens.
4. Add beef base, salt, pepper and tomatoes and cook one minute more, stirring constantly.
5. Add Kitchen Bouquet, all other vegetables and ground hamburger.
6. Cook on medium heat, stirring frequently for 30 minutes, being careful not to scorch.
7. Serve with large chunks of French bread or biscuits.
