A message dedicated to MangoMania

2 min read

I would like to thank everyone involved for lending a helping hand in such a successful event. A huge part of MangoMania is orchestrated on a volunteer basis and is no easy feat to pull off. All the time, effort, and hard work is much above and beyond what people sign up for; they do it out of kindness and dedication, showing just what kind of people they are and how giving they can be. Each one of them participates so they can show visitors how much Pine Island means to them, and how unique Pine Island is. There are many hours of each person’s lives dedicated to the year-round planning of this event that takes time away from their own business. MangoMania does have one paid position of coordinator for the event who did a phenomenal job this year. MangoMania continues to thrive and flourish year after year due to these selfless people. This event has grown in the last 14 years so much that there is no place on Pine Island large enough to host it. We at the chamber are working alongside with several other island organizations in hopes that one day we will have a location so grand within our own community that we will never have to leave again for our festivals.

A huge “congratulations!” goes out to all those involved. This includes the volunteers in every aspect – from coordinating daily duties to the fantastic help of Pastor Heidi and all the kids on garbage detail. One child from the church by the name of Chris deserves a special thanks for all he did at MangoMania. Let me tell you, this kid was on his game being helpful in so many ways. The chamber has several people that they can count on year after year who give their time selling t-shirts and providing night-time security. The chamber received much needed help this year with promotions and sponsors from local businesses. Without those of you that helped, we would not have been able to be so successful.

Thank you all again for the dedication and help this year and we hope to see you all again next year. We are already starting to form committees for 2011; if you are interested in participating in MangoMania from the onset, please contact our office so we can get you involved in the planning sessions.
