Pool hours and summer program
Grab your swim suits and head to the Pine Island Pool. It’s very hot now and summer is right around the bend. Mark your calendars for May 31, as the pool will be open Memorial Day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pack your picnic and enjoy a swim for the day. The pool will be open seven days a week starting June 27.
Registration has started for the summer learn to swim programs. The pool offers four, two-week sessions, Monday through Thursday, Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoon and limited evening classes.The Junior Lifeguard Camp is already full this year. Please go to leeparks.org to view all the lessons and sign up on line or you can register at the pool.
A special thanks once again to the Bobby Holloway Foundation for helping sponsor some children for swimming lessons. If you are in need of assistance, please call 283-2220 or stop by the pool. Remember, this scholarship is for non-swimmers only. “Every child a swimmer,” is our motto.
A huge heartfelt thanks to Donald Heilbron for his generous donation to help pay for life jackets. We also had another donation, he wanted to remain anonymous, for completing what was needed. Along with the money from the Kiwanis, the pool is set for another few years.
